What is SUP Electric Pump?
SUP Electric Pump is a type of special pump used to fill inflatable paddle board with air in 8-10 minutes quickly and automatically in the hot outdoor. This pump can significantly save our physical strength and time.
SUP electric pump can significantly meet a definite inflation speed and pressure.

For instance: In a car tire pump, the pressure is more than 35PSI so that its inflation speed is too slow. In a kayak pump, the pressure is just 3-4PSI where the inflation speed will be too quick. But when it comes to SUP electric pump, it can meet 15PSI pressure without reducing the speed of inflation. It is because no one has time to wait for a longer duration for inflation especially on a hot beach.
Why do we require an electric pump for SUP?
Inflatable paddle boards are normally instant and easy to inflate. There are many who come with a manual pump to inflate a SUP within 10 minutes. At times, elders and younger individuals might find it very difficult to inflate SUPers. Similarly, others would prefer to avoid them due to excess sweat and strain that’s always there with manual pumping. If you are going to the lake for practicing yoga or meditation, you won’t prefer to invest your time and energy in SUP inflation. That might spoil your peaceful mindset.
This is where we recommend an electric pump for all inflatable paddle boarders. An electric pump can quickly inflate your paddleboard like a manual pump, but you don’t have to do it yourself. Our electric pump can deflate your iSUP by sucking out the air. And, it can be packed up easily and tightly. Several electric pumps are very small with a lightweight like ASN traditional manual pumps. Hence, it is possible to pack and carry them. Some pumps have a portable or integrated battery. So, you need not stay near the car to use them.
Is it possible to use an electric pump for a SUP?
In the case of the kayak pump, the pressure is only 3-4 PSI whereas it is only 0.5-1 PSI for an inflatable bed. To inflate a SUP using an electric pump, you require less pressure so that its speed of inflation remains fast. Without an electric pump, you will have to wait for a prolonged duration in the hot sun just to inflate the SUP.

Can we use a tire inflator for SUP?
No, it’s not safe. The pressure of the tire inflator can reach 40 PSI, which can quickly damage the SUP. Moreover, its inflation process is too slow. Hence, the tire inflator cannot be used to inflate the SUP.
How long does it take to inflate a SUP with an electric pump?
Typically, it takes 8-10 minutes depending on the size of the SUP as well as the brand of an electric SUP pump. A good and high quality electric SUP pump will instantly inflate and take its shape, unlike other pumps which will take extra minutes to reach a higher air pressure by pumping.
What are the steps involved in inflating SUP with an electric pump?
Here is the list of SUP inflation steps:
Step 1: Start your car.

Step 2: Take out the car charger power cord from the storage bin which is at the bottom of the inflatable pump. Insert the cigarette lighter but remember not to twist the power cord together to avoid the line from overheating.
Step 3: Take out the air hose. Connect one end of the air hose to the inflation port of the inflator pump (which is marked as INFLATE). In the inflatable pump accessories bin, select the applicable SUP air nozzle, attach (snap) to the other end of the air hose, insert into the SUP paddle plate valve, press firmly, rotate, and lock.
Step 4: In the inflatable pump operation panel, click the ‘M’ button and choose SUP mode (an icon for the floating bed logo). Press “+” or “-” to set the appropriate air pressure value. (Air pressure values can be found in the SUP panel which will have the recommended maximum PSI value as well). Hence, the inflatable pump paddle board can be set to the maximum pressure value (which is 20 PSI). The factory setting is 15 PSI. Usually, there is no user manual. Set up the pressure and connect the panel for the inflatable switch to the “=” mark found at the side of the dial. By doing so, the air pump will begin to work.
Step 5: If the inflation pressure reaches the preset pressure value, the air pump will automatically stop working. At that time, unplug the car charger power cord first. Next, remove the hose from that end of the air pump and gradually take out the hose from the end of the SUP paddle plate. Cover the SUP valve cover. Stow the hose, power cord, and air nozzle to the air pump and wait for the next use.
Precautions:
- Do not leave the air pump carelessly while inflating.
- Do not inflate nonstop for more than 30 minutes, especially after 3 SUPs. Once it reaches more than 30 minutes, the air pump should cool for 10 minutes before proceeding to use it again.
Here is the list of SUP pumping steps:
Step 1: After utilizing the SUP back, keep it next to your car and start the car.
Step 2: Remove the car charger power cord from the storage bin present at the bottom of the inflator pump. Insert the cigarette lighter and remember not to twist the power cord together in order to avoid the cord from overheating.
Step 3: Take out the air hose. Connect one end of the air hose to the suction port of the inflator pump (marked DEFLATE). In the inflatable pump accessories bin, select the applicable SUP air nozzle, attach (snap) to the other end of the air hose, insert into the SUP paddle plate valve, press firmly, rotate, and lock.
Step 4: There is no need to set the pressure limit. Just dial the “=” inflation switch on the panel, and the air pump will begin to pump.
Step 5: Once when the SUP paddleboard gas gets drained, turn the inflation switch manually back to the “O” position, which is present at the end of pumping.
At that time, unplug the car charger power cord first. Next, remove the hose from the end of the air pump and gradually take out the hose from that end of the SUP paddle plate. Cover the SUP valve cover. Store the hose, power cord, and air nozzle to the air pump and wait for the next use.
Is it safe to overinflate a SUP?
No, it is not safe. Over inflation can damage the SUP. A good electric SUP pump has the ability to set up PSI. The user can set 15 PSI before inflation, and the electric SUP pump will get stopped automatically after it reaches 15 PSI.
Is it okay to use an air mattress pump for SUP?
No, it is not right to use an air mattress pump. It is because the pressure of the air mattress pump is only 0.5-1 PSI. SUP requires 15 PSI. Hence, if you use an air mattress pump to inflate SUP, the pressure will remain minimal, and SUP will not become hard enough.

Is it hard to pump up a paddle board?
As the paddle board begins to fill with air pressure, you may find that it becomes very difficult to pump more air into the board. Once the board fills to a certain level, you will encounter more resistance with each pump up. This can make getting the job done an ordeal, whereas with an electric SUP pump, all you need to do is set the PSI, turn on the power, and wait a few minutes for the electric SUP pump to automatically fill the SUP with air, and you don’t have to be tired to pump.
What is the recommended PSI for a SUP?
The recommended PSI for an inflatable paddle board is 15 PSI, with an increase in pressure of 20 PSI. In the SUP pump, you will have to set the PSI limit to 15.
